The library of tools and resources will be developed in line with the specific issues and challenges schools reveal. Each resource will be founded on the team’s experience, a review of the evidence in educational research and best practice and innovation in corporate and brand communication. Some assets are straightforward to use, while others may require a degree of prior knowledge.

Free resources
A tool developed in a school setting to assess the effectiveness of school-parent communications. Many schools overcompensate for a lack of communication exertise. The impact on parents can be negative, leading to a loss of information flow between two parties. Indeed, according to Goodall, JS (2016), if the meaning is not shared between sender and receiver after an act of communication, then no communication can be said to have occurred. Use this tool to assess the load of your communications on your parent community.

An audit tool developed to provide a rigorous framework with which school leaders can assess the effectiveness of their communication as defined by Goodall, JS (2016). Provides an initial assessment framework, directs evidence gathering by staff with parents, and characterises the nature of any deficiencies in parent communication efficacy. This will provide a basis for designing appropriate interventions and improvements. Part of Just Add Parents Workshop 1, delivered via Zoom, 14 June 2020.
